Farewell 2012

2012 was a roller coaster of a year for our little family. We moved back to our home state of Oregon, Ryan started a new job, we welcomed our little man into the world and we have been blessed enough to be able to watch him grow into such a joyful baby. Being a mama to him is surely the greatest thing that I have experienced this year. Getting to watch him grow, smile, laugh, roll over, eat his first foods, sleep through the night, say 'mama' and so many more things has been the highlight of my year. Watching him day in and day out has brought so much into perspective for me and has really shaken me to the core (in a good way). I am changing for the better.

I have started on the path of weight loss and am attempting to get our household switched over to a natural, organic space. A space of love and happiness, a space where we feel safe and at peace. There have, for sure, been a lot of bumps in the road when it comes to getting healthier and back to a simpler life but those bumps make it all so much more real and worthwhile. It makes it all that much more sweeter once our goals are achieved.

So life is good. Kaden celebrated his first Christmas and had a total blast. We opened gifts at home, went and opened gifts at my parents' house and then went and opened gifts + ate dinner at my grandparents' house. It was a really busy, fun day and Kaden had such a wonderful time. Now here we are with just a couple more hours until we are living in 2013. WOW. I really cannot believe that this year is already coming to an end. But I am looking forward to a 'fresh start', if you will. Tomorrow marks 9 years since I went vegetarian and I am going to go one step further by finally getting serious and going completely vegan. I am also cutting out white + brown sugar. Phew! It's going to be a bit rough for the first few weeks but totally worth it.

What else, what else? Oh! I was gifted a couple really great books for Christmas and am really loving them both. Healthy at 100 by John Robbins and Crazy Sexy Kitchen by Kris Carr. Tomorrow, actually, we are celebrating the New Year over at my parents' house and I am going to be making a chili recipe out of CSK which I am really excited about. I am also going to a 2.5 hour long yoga + meditation workshop at a local yoga studio. Such a perfect way to ring in the new year! I have so many goals for 2013 that I will be sharing this week, goals that I am really very giddy about. Until then, here are some photos from our Christmas!

I will see you all next year! :)
