GROWTH

Since starting this blog one short year ago it's direction has changed a few different times. It has grown and shifted, sometimes at a painfully awkward pace. When I decided to open up this little space I was five months pregnant with Kaden and desperately trying to find who I wanted to be as an individual heading into motherhood. Four months later and our little man was here and I found myself trying to unEarth the person I was becoming; an individual + a mama. I was so unsure of myself in the beginning and, to be honest, somedays I still am. But I think that is only natural. As the days and years go by I can only expect that I will settle into these roles a little more, bit by bit. We are ever evolving and life would be quite boring if we had it all figured out from day one.

So here I am ... in this little space, once more, feeling a shift and a change upon me. I feel the urge to create and explore, to better myself and the lives of Ryan + Kaden. I have a constant feeling of butterflies in my stomach and the wheels in my head are turning at about a million miles a second. I have so many ideas and projects that I want to explore, attempt and share. This space will become the place I can do that.

Ryan and I are really getting serious about a more simple way of life. You know - making a lot of our own cleaning + hygiene products, living in a more sustainable manner, growing + canning our own foods, recycling + repurposing, building furniture we'd like, donating + thrifting, cooking from scratch and really just getting back to a much simpler way of life. Other things I am really excited to explore and share are sewing, knitting + crochet projects as well as DIY, around the house type projects. I'm also making it a priority to get back to a place of taking more photos and making sure to get some more recent photos up on our walls. A lot of the ones we have up right now are three and four years old! I'm so bad about updating things like that.

So here we go! 2013 is so fresh and new and full of so many possibilities. I can't wait to share them with you :)

Love, Stephanie.

  2. Hi there new blog friend,

How do you can your own things? Have you purchased special equipment? This is fascinating!
I started a 2013 project: Making my first patchwork quilt. I hope I finish it with the same gusto in which I started... One week in so far!
Thank you for sharing your posts.

    1. Bella, hi! So great to have you here!

I'm really not too sure about anything as far as canning goes! It is just something that my husband and I have been wanting to learn to do for quite sometime and decided that 2013 is FINALLY the year to see it through!

And best of luck with your quilt! It is actually a goal of mine to at least start one in this new year. Let's see if I get around to it ... :)

Again, thank you so much for stopping by and following! So wonderful to have you here!
